Air Methods Corporation has confirmed that its Products Division has received two contracts, worth US$525,269, in support of the HH-60L MedEvac Black Hawk programme. The company expects to complete the work for these contracts over the next six to nine months.

One contract award was received from the U.S. Army Aviation & Missile Command at Redstone Arsenal for spare parts to support the growing HH-60L operational fleet. There are currently 12 aircraft in operation, some of which have seen duty in Afghanistan and Iraq.

The Products Division was also awarded a contract by Sikorsky Aircraft to perform product improvement studies on the HH-60L medical interior. Air Methods will evaluate a number of product enhancement concepts based upon the experience gained by operational units. Incorporation of any product modifications as a result of these studies would be carried out under separate future contracts.

This contract follows the recent announcement of an 11-aircraft order from Sikorsky for HH-60L Multi-Mission MedEvac interior systems.
