New fixed-wing ambulance service for NSW

On 1st January 2004, the Royla Flying Doctor Service of Australia will provide an aerial ambulance service in New South Wales (Broken Hill), Australia. According to the terms of a contract award, made on 25 July 2003, the service will include the provision of a suitably equipped fixed wing aircraft and flight crew to provide a 24- hour aeromedical retrieval and patient transport facility.

The contract, worth an estimated A$19,810,055, will run for seven years and was awarded by Australia’s Department of Health and Human Services.
