Under a new solicitation (USA-SNOTE-031125-001), the U.S Army Aviation and Missile Research Development and Engineering Center anticipates a requirement for the acquisition of manufacturing technologies that provide enhancements to rotor blade production.
The intended technologies could apply to current and future aviation systems, such as AH-64 Apache, RAH-66 Comanche, UH-60 Black Hawk and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV). Enabling technologies are desired that explore advanced manufacturing methods and concepts in areas which include, but are not limited to, rotor blade design and qualification, manufacturing, testing and support.
Emphasis should be placed on two categories of ideas (1) efforts that apply to existing rotor blades and (2) efforts that apply to new design rotor blades. Each technology initiative should be supported by a schedule, cost estimate and projected return on investment (ROI).
Interested firms must respond in writing to the identified point of contact by 30 December 2003. Email your questions to US Army Aviation and Missile Command DAAH01 at NATALYNN.WEDDLE@REDSTONE.ARMY.MIL
