REACH Air Medical Services, a full-spectrum air ambulance service providing adult, paediatric and neonatal medical and trauma transport services, will open a 24-hour base of operations called REACH 6 on 17 January 2004. REACH 6 will be based at Lampson Field in Lakeport, California (USA).

The fully-equipped emergency medical response helicopter will be REACH’s sixth helicopter operation in Northern California. The crew of three, including a pilot, a paramedic and a nurse will be on-duty 24-hours-a-day. The crew will respond to 911 scene calls as well as inter-facility (hospital-to-hospital) patient transports.

“We have served the residents and healthcare community of Lake County for the past 16 years from our Santa Rosa base of Operations,” said Jim Adams, REACH chief executive officer. “We are confident we will be enhancing the level of services available to the community by providing a base of operations within the Lake County region.”

REACH Air Medical Services (www.reachairambulance.com), headquartered in Santa Rosa, California, provides helicopter and fixed-wing patient transfers for critically ill and injured patients. Since REACH’s inception in 1987, the company has performed more than 20,000 air ambulance missions. Currently, REACH supports operations in Santa Rosa, Sacramento, Concord and Redding. It is privately owned and operated.
